Dining in the Newly Expanded Eataly in Tokyo Station in Japan

Italian Dining at Eataly in Japan

The Japanese are known for being perfectionists. They have perfected not only their cuisine but also international cuisines. Japan has arguably the best pizza and pasta outside of Italy (perhaps even in the world). With the country’s love of Italian cuisine, it is only natural for Italy’s famous Eataly to expand in Tokyo.

Expansion and New Location

From the small delicatessen in Tokyo Station, Eataly has reopened and expanded to look just like the Eataly’s in all over Italy. The gourmet marketplace sells premium and authentic Italian ingredients.

The 450 square meter expansion now sells more than just cheese and charcuterie. You can feast at each food station or enjoy a meal in the 110-seater restaurant. The food stations include cannoli, crepe, gelato, coffee, cheese and charcuteries, focaccia, pasta, and pizza. Each station has an area with high tables if you choose to dine-in.

The new Eataly market is located in the newly expanded Marunouchi side of the JR East Tokyo Station.

Welcome to Eataly. Once you step foot into this Italian marketplace you will immediately transport to the Eataly’s in Italy. It looks, smells, and feels exactly the same with all the familiar premium food
Aside from shopping for ingredients and products, you can sit down for a quick bite in the high tables in front of each food station. If you are in a rush, you can also order the food as takeout to take back to your hotel, home, or office

Dining at Eataly in Tokyo Station

If you want to enjoy a more than just one of the food station for a more filling meal, you can dine in the restaurant at the back of the food market. The menu offers a variety of appetizers, pizza, pasta, grilled entrees, and dessert.

Mixed Green Salad, with a tasty amount of shaved parmigianno reggiano. The arugula leaves are coated with a quality balsamic dressing to balance the flavor of the cheese. This is great to share with the table as an appetizer
Burrata pizza with cherry tomatoes. A whole ball of fresh burrata cheese on top of freshly chopped cherry tomatoes. This is like a salad on top of pizza because of the cold cheese and cold tomatoes. The pizza itself is thin with less of a chew than neapolitan pizzas
Cacio e pepe pasta. The menu offers classic selections of Italian pastas. Because Japan has an amazing reputation for making amazing Japanese-Italian pastas, the Eataly pastas are actually not as vibrant as those you can find in other Italian restaurants in Tokyo
