While most tourists flock to Dotonbori and Namba in Osaka, locals know to dine at Umeda near the Osaka Station for some of Osaka’s best and reasonably priced restaurants.

5: Kuwayaki at Kushiyakitei

A regional Osaka specialty that must be tasted when in town. After World War II, local farmers from Osaka would cook wildfowl on their hoes, called kuwa. Today, kuwayaki specializes in cooking meats and vegetables on a hot flat iron griddle
