Guam is an ideal destination for beach lovers, young families, and those looking for an island getaway near Asia (as the flight is less than 3 hours from Japan, Korea, China, and the Philippines). So now that Guam is on your travel radar, what can you do on the island? Here is a suggested Guam Itinerary:
3 Full Days in Guam
A Note & Tip About Travel Days
If budget is not an issue, the best way to travel is to not count flying days as part of your destination’s itinerary. Flying days and travel days are tiring; you should treat your body with care and take it easy when you arrive at your destination.
Settle into your hotel room, hydrate, and rest. If you still have a full day ahead, explore your hotel’s facilities or walk the surrounding area to stretch your legs and get acquainted with what’s around.
Day 1 in Guam
If you are still adjusting to the time difference, take a leisurely morning waking up. Maybe check out the hotel gym or take a morning swim in the pool/beach.
By late morning, head over to the Guam Museum to learn all about the island’s history and culture. This is a great place to start your trip so you can fully understand what makes Guam the way it is today.
After educating yourself, reward yourself! Enjoy local beers in the island’s breweries where you can pair tastings of beer with bar bites.
Afterward, head back to your hotel, especially if it’s in Tumon, to witness Guam’s gorgeous sunsets. For dinner, you can consider one of your hotel’s restaurants or something in the area so you can end early for the next day.
If it’s a Wednesday night during the duration of your stay, check out the Chamorro Village for the island’s weekly cultural night featuring local eats, crafts, entertainment, and even carabao rides.
Day 2 in Guam
Start the day early with a morning hike! Guam offers locals and travelers hikes to waterfalls, caves, war sites, and more. You can inquire with your hotel’s concierge for the options for hikes in the area and how to get there.
After the hike, have a local meal at Pika’s Cafe which specializes in local flavors for breakfast and lunch. This hearty meal will certainly refill all that you sweated out during the hike.
You may get food coma after that delicious meal, so have a beach day! Explore the different beaches on the island or enjoy your hotel’s pool and beachfront.
If you can tear yourself away from the beach, freshen up and head out to dinner. Have a nice meal out at Kitchen Lingo or Crust.
Day 3 in Guam
It’s your last full day on Guam – it’s time to go shopping! For tourists, explore The Plaza with a range of shops and eateries. For those seeking luxury brand names, head over to T Galleria by DFS. Young families and fans of sea creatures can also check out the UnderWater World for Guam’s aquarium featuring a cool underwater glass tunnel.
Finally, end the trip a sunset boat ride to see dolphins! The Sunset Cruise runs rain or shine, so it is best to book a bit more last minute when you know the weather will be gorgeous so you can have better chances of seeing dolphins. The boat ride also includes dinner and drinks.
