Highlights of Hong Kong: One-Day Itinerary

Highlights of Hong Kong in One Day

There are endless things to do in Hong Kong and an overwhelming list of where to eat and drink. Here is a one-day itinerary with highlights of Hong Kong which treats you to a sample of the city’s offerings:

8:00 AM Breakfast

Start your day in Hong Kong with a Chinese dim sum feast including this zhaliang, rice noodle roll wrapped around fried dough. Most dim sum restaurants open around 11am. A few places open early for breakfast or even stay open 24 hours for late night cravings. In local Hong Kong restaurants, the service may be brusque. If you are in Central, consider Lin Heung Tea House or Luk Yu Tea House for an early dim sum breakfast

Lin Heung Tea House
162 Wellington St. Sheung Wan
6am to 11pm

Luk Yu Tea House
24-26 Stanley St, Central
7am to 10pm

9:00 AM Morning Hike

After that filling breakfast, enjoy the best of Hong Kong’s outdoors. A hike up Dragon’s Back Trail or biking around Lantau Island. Take a ferry to the outlying islands, like Lamma Island. Pass the lines and around the Peak or up to the famous Buddha. Read more about my Dragon’s Back hike here

6:00 PM Drinks in SoHo

After the afternoon of enrichment, reward yourself with a drink or few. Bar crawls around Sheung Wan and Central are part of the joys in Hong Kong. Along with the bars, many restaurants also offer an excellent cocktail selection
