Top 5 Best Drinks & Desserts in Japan & Hong Kong

2016 certainly had its indulgences, mostly in moderation of course. Here are my Top 5 Drinks & Desserts from Japan & Hong Kong:

Best Drinks – Beer: Sapporo Classic, Hokkaido Japan

Found only in Hokkaido, the northern tip of Japan. This beer is incredibly creamy and slight sweet, as though you are drinking Hokkaido milk. It is my new favorite beer, and I wish I could drink it every day. Read more about drinking in Hokkaido here

Best Drinks – Cocktail: Mint Julep at The Chinnery, Hong Kong

Whether is it lunch time or dinner, there is nothing more refreshing than a classic mint julep at The Chinnery. Served in a traditional silver cup with crushed ice, the cocktail remains cold from first sip to last. The taste of bourbon, the balance of slightly sweet and bitter, and the fresh mint makes it the perfect bar drink in Hong Kong. Read more about The Chinnery here

Best Dessert in Tokyo

If you love dessert and you are in Tokyo, make your way to Dominique Ansel Bakery. The visual experience and the taste of his bakery and the products are worth lining up. These torched-to-order Frozen S’mores with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate layer indie the fluffy, burnt marshmallow are a must order. Best Dessert in Hakone

Soft serve on rusk. While the purpose of going to Hakone is for the gorgeous sights of nature, this cup of soft serve is equally worth the drive. The creamy sweetness against the maple crunch makes this my highlight of Hakone

Best Dessert of the Year

A simple soft serve. Hands down, best dessert of the year. After hiking Shiraito Falls near Mt. Fuji in Japan, make sure to reward yourself with this amazing cone of soft serve. The milk comes fresh from the local cows every morning at 7am and then churned in the machine for amazingly fresh, creamy soft serve. One of the best in the world!
