Everyone around the world is staying at home a lot more these days. So aside from working from home, this is the best time to catch up on your list of books to read and all the shows you’ve been meaning to watch. To help satisfy or grow your travel desires, here are the most entertaining travel shows, food shows, and more:
Who doesn’t love dad jokes?! Okay, maybe if it’s your own dad… Phil Rosenthal’s Somebody Feed Phil proves that dad jokes are legitimately funny. Plus, he travels to amazing places around the world that you can actually go to yourself.
Jon Favreau goes from making some of our favorite movies to one of the most entertaining food shows. He gathers his celebrity friends to learn and cook with celebrity chefs. From season one to the current season three, you’ll see how far he has come as a cook himself thanks to the tutelage of Chef Roy Choi.
Celebrity chef David Chang travels the world with food-curious celebrities in search of food finds beyond the typical tourists’ spots, including meeting up with Chrissy Teigen in Marrakech and Seth Rogan in Vancouver.
The best food is not always pretty, and Ugly Delicious proves exactly that with favorite dishes like pizza, fried chicken, and curry. Plus host David Chang meets up with fellow food-industry friends so viewers can really learn fascinating details about food origins and evolutions.
To help satisfy the desire to travel, Restaurants on the Edge highlight some amazing sights in some of the world’s most beautiful destinations like Malta. At the same time, there are the human-connection storylines from watching the hosts attempt to help restauranteurs revive their businesses.
Architecture fans can travel around the world in this series which displays some gorgeous and some out-there homes in all corners of the world. The show may not make you want to travel to these destinations, but it is still so interesting to see what’s being built in the world today.
Netflix gathered together Conan O’Brien’s travel clips from his’s feature, Conan Without Borders. Now you can watch each of the countries together in episodes. Some of the funniest destinations include South Korea and Italy.
This may be a fictional series, but the food is very real and very delicious especially for fans of Japanese cuisine. The best part of the episodes is how you can actually learn how to make some of the dishes – it may not be the recipe itself but the show highlights the techniques.
Samurai Gourmet follows a new retiree as he discovers the world of food in his country. Incredibly corny Japanese humor, but this show will really make you crave for Japanese cuisine.
Aside from Netflix, Amazon Prime also has a decent lineup of movies and television shows (highly recommend Jack Ryan and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), including some interesting food and travel shows like Eat the World with Emeril Lagasse.
For Japan lovers, you can check out James May: Our Man In…Japan for a westerner’s perspective of traveling through Japan.
