Singapore Eats: From Hawker Stalls to Celebrity Chefs

Something for everyone

Singapore’s dining scene truly has something for everyone, from the variety of classic dishes at hawker centres to the beautifully composed dishes at the famous celebrity chef restaurants. For every budget, all your senses will be satisfied with the range of flavors and tastes.

Hawker Stall Classics

Singapore is synonymous with hawker centres selling classic Singaporean dishes at incredibly affordable prices. While some travelers may hesitate with street food, the city has a few centers which stand by a higher quality.

Oyster Omelette at Lau Pa Sat. Located in the financial district, this renovated hawker centre charges slightly higher prices as it assures diners of the quality and atmosphere. Oyster omelette is a classic Asian street food also found in Taiwanese and Thai cuisines
Hainanese Chicken Rice at the famous Tian Tian hawker stall at Maxwell Centre. While this center is not as pristine as the cleaner hawker centres, it houses the famous chicken rice which was made famous by Anthony Bourdain
Food Opera, the upscale basement food court on Orchard Road. One of the cleaner food courts as it is located inside the ION Orchard. The selection of vendors is hand-selected for being the best in their cuisines and dishes offered
BBQ Chicken Wings and Satay at Food Opera. More classics from hawker centres and properly cooked here at Food Opera. The chicken and satay can be eaten with the assurance of quality and hygiene standards not often found in typical street food
Sambal Stingray at Food Opera. A classic seafood dish that is perfect to share with the whole table as the meaty, tender fish goes a long way. The spice of the sambal is just right and makes you want to eat more
