Welcome to the capital of Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur is Malaysia’s capital and its largest city which is known to the locals as “KL”. KL is a melting pot of its diverse cultures, namely of Indians, Chinese, and Malay descents. A one-day itinerary in KL requires all the essentials starting with a history lesson of the country, photos of the nation’s iconic Petronas Twin Towers, and eating the best of Malaysian cuisine.

10:00am Malaysia’s history at the National Museum

Start your day and trip to Kuala Lumpur with an extensive history lesson at the National Museum, Muzium Negara. The museum is known as the guardian of the nation’s history as the art, artifacts, and timelines detail the introduction to Malaysia’s past and the culture of the people.

4:30pm Requisite photos of the Petronas Twin Towers

You cannot go to Kuala Lumpur without taking photos of the Petronas Twin Towers. The best shots of the towers are from below, just outside the Suria KLCC. Take one during the day and another with the contrast of towers’ lights against the evening background.

Visitors can go up to the observation deck. Tickets are first-come-first-serve. Go earlier in the day to purchase tickets (or arrange the purchase through your hotel’s concierge). Arrive 15 minutes ahead of the ticket schedule and expect to take about 45 minutes for the entire visit
