Neighborhood meets Luxury Comfort in San Francisco & Healdsburg – My Current Favorite Hotels

San Francisco is one of the best places to visit in the U.S. as it is full of culture and amazing restaurants topping the food industry scene year after year. Beyond the city, whether north or south, the Bay Area entices visitors with worthwhile destinations and comfortable luxury hotels for the complete travel experience. Here are a couple of my favorite hotels in California in 2016:

Neighborhood Retreat in San Francisco

San Francisco districts and neighborhoods vary from yuppie to sketchy and from touristy to residential. If you want to get away from the crowds of tourists in the city while staying within walking distance of bars and restaurants, consider The Kimpton Buchanan, where Japantown meets The Fillmore and Pacific Heights. Read about my stay here.

The entrance of The Kimpton Buchanan starts at the end of Japantown. Walk uphill and you will be in the posh Pacific Heights neighborhood. Walk down a few blocks and you are surrounded by some of the best restaurants and bars in The Fillmore
Inside the hotel rooms are Japanese-inspired décor with a minimalist touch. The choice of furnishings resembles apartment-like features more than a hotel to make guests truly feel as though they are at home
Guests can feel like they are in an apartment complex with the common areas of the hotel, including an outdoor fire pit, lawn games, and daily wine hours to start off every evening in the reception area of the hotel

Group Getaway in Healdsburg

One of the best parts of San Francisco is its proximity to the wine country. While you can spend a whole day or days in Napa Valley, adventure farther up north to Sonoma county and Healdsburg for the region’s best Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. With all that wine tasting, Two Thirty-Five Luxury Suites is a spacious and comfortable place to stay with your drinking companions. Read about my stay here.

Nestled in the middle of downtown Healdsburg with trees lining the bridge which leads to the parking lot, Two Thirty-Five Luxury Suites has an ideal location when looking for a place to stay in Healdsburg and Sonoma County
The building was a former apartment complex, so each of the luxury suites has three bedrooms complete with their own en-suite bathrooms and amenities you would expect from a luxury establishment
The suites are each decorated to a theme which starts the moment you enter the door and into the living room. The living room area has a large coffee table to enjoy snacks and games while watching television from the entertainment hub
To complete the luxury apartment setting, each suite has a dining table to accommodate six guests and a full kitchen with all the necessities and luxuries of a kitchen with appliances, pots, pans, plates, and more. More reasons why this is one of my new favorite hotels
