6 Bad Stomach Prevention Tips for How Not to Get Stuck to the Toilet.
Getting a bad stomach can completely ruin all plans on a trip. It means getting stuck in the bathroom all day instead of going out to sightsee and to eat amazing food. Here are 6 bad stomach prevention tips:
1. Probiotics
Probiotics are your savior to prevent and lessen the effects of a bad stomach. You can have it in the form of daily probiotic pills (such as Culturelle) or in the form of food – like yogurt for breakfast and before bed.
2. Drink Bottled Water. And, Avoid Ice
Stay cautious about drinking tap water when traveling. There are some countries where you can safely have it, such as Japan, but there are plenty of other countries that are uncertain. So the safest is to buy bottled water in convenience stores for your hotel room and to drink bottled water in restaurants. And if you are in a questionable place, avoid the ice.
3. Always Have Clean Hands
Always wash hands or sanitize your hands especially before meals. This also goes for when touching public door knobs and dealing with bills and coins which carry so many germs.
4. Choose Clean, Quality Restaurants
Choose clean, quality restaurants. Street food and dirty places do not mean authentic. They just convey cheapness with no standards to clean their facility. If you tend to have bad stomachs when traveling, it is best to play it safe and eat in higher quality restaurants that are equally authentic. It’s worth it to pay a little more than to suffer on the toilet for the rest of your trip.
5. Use Common Sense When Eating & Drinking
Use common sense when it comes to what to eat and drink. Use your eyes and nose to determine if the food is questionable. And when in doubt, pass on it. It is better to not have it than to regret that one bite while miserably on the toilet.
6. Have a Beer
Enjoy a beer – because it’s tasty, relaxing, and it may actually help prevent a bad stomach if taken with food.
