TokyoTreat Review: It’s SO Much Fun!

Disclaimer: I received this complimentary box in exchange to write this review. And full disclosure: I loved the contents and fun of the box so much that I already purchased a 3-month subscription.

This monthly box is legitimately worth it if you like Japan and the country’s fun snacks. You’re buying the deliciousness of the treats and the experience and emotions that come from opening up a box of surprises.

The TokyoTreat box has a perfect balance of savory and sweet snacks including quality brands like Kit Kat, Pocky, and Calbee. Plus, each month includes classics, new favorites, and the latest seasonal flavors and trends in Japan.

The snacks in the box are things you might actually buy for yourself when you are traveling in Japan. And it also includes other snacks you might not pick out because you don’t realize how tasty it actually is. These are locals buying what everyone in Japan is loving right now.

Note for those with dietary restrictions, like allergies: Use the Google Translate app’s camera mode over the Japanese text to determine if the snack contains your allergies.

It’s here! You’re TokyoTreat Box arrives after 2 to 5 days in a well-packed and solid box.

The fun begins as you open the box as the bright orange color certainly lifts your spirits. Inside, the contents are properly packed so none of the snacks get crushed.

TokyoTreat Review
Yum! Look at this huge variety of 17 treats packed inside the box! It ranges from full-size snacks to fun-size ones. Plus, you’ll notice premium brands like Fanta, KitKat and Calbee.

The box includes a pamphlet with a description of each curated snack. Be sure to read each one before eating as the tasting notes enhance the eating experience.

Each month offers completely different snacks. This September 2021 box included classic local favorites like corn potage (corn soup) puffs and curry-flavored rice crackers.

There’s also fun packaging and branding with these Pokemon pudding puffs. It’s called pudding and it actually tastes like crispy pancakes oozing with maple syrup. So good.

And then there’s the popular KitKat with the seasonal flavor of the moment. This month’s box was the Summer Ice Cream flavor which tastes like birthday cake. Yes, please.

Note about the box’s delivery to warm destinations: It can arrive warm and melted. If this is the case for you, store the KitKat’s in the refrigerator (or wine fridge, too) and it will be completely salvaged.

After refrigeration, this is the KitKat! Same great taste and crunch.
