Hotel Review – Revisiting The Peninsula Tokyo

The Peninsula Tokyo, 10 Years Later

Most hotels require necessary renovations after a decade. Today, The Peninsula Tokyo celebrates 10 years since its opening in September 2007, and the rooms are practically brand new.

The Peninsula Tokyo stands above the rest as a luxury hotel destination in Tokyo for its spaciously comfortable rooms, attention-to-detail service, and its impressive maintenance to uphold the cleanest rooms in the city.

The most creative welcome fruit display! The Peninsula Tokyo knows how to impress guests the moment they enter their rooms and suites. This beautiful presentation of locals grapes celebrates the hotel’s 10th anniversary

Review of the Deluxe Room

Bedroom & Sitting Area

The Peninsula Tokyo boasts of having one of the more spacious rooms in the city. Their base rooms start at 54 square meters, more than comfortable for 2 or 3 guests in the room. Plus, the layout of the sitting area allows guests to fully enjoy the room during the day and night with the sofa and dining table.

The bedroom. A spacious king bed comfortably fills the bed area of the room. You can also request for buckwheat or Tempur pillows from housekeeping for a better night’s rest. The best part of staying at The Peninsula is the five-star attention to detail, including new freshly ironed bed sheets each day
The sitting area can be converted to a sofa bed for an extra guest in the room. During the day, the bed is kept away to enjoy the sofa in the room. The sitting area comes with a small dining table for 2, a small desk area, and coffee and tea station with hotel-branded teas and a Lavazza coffee machine

Bathroom & Closet

Not only is the room spacious, the bathroom and closet also have luxurious roominess. The walk-in closet provides enough space for large luggage, drawers for your belongings, and ample hanging for your clothes.

The bathrooms come equipped with two sinks, a tub, an enclosed shower, and an enclosed toilet. Being in Japan, the toilets have the standard bidet with seat warmers, automatic flushing, and automatic opening and closing of the lids.

The classic Peninsula bathroom. The layout of the bathroom is a standard in most Peninsula hotels (such at in Bangkok and Shanghai). The tub greats you in the center, with two sinks on the sides, an enclosed shower, and an enclosed toilet
Oscar de la Renta toiletries. The Peninsula hotels have this signature shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap, and moisturizer as a standard luxury brand in their hotels around the world
Bathroom amenities. Like all luxury hotels, guests are provided with these standard bathroom amenities, like a dental kit, shaving kit, nail care kit, shower cap, sewing kit, cotton pads, cotton buds, a comb, and a brush. Additionally, there is also Purell hand sanitizer which you can use while you are out in Tokyo during the day
