El Nido Travel Tips: Getting Around El Nido Palawan

El Nido Travel Tips for Transportation Around the Island.

You’ve booked your trip and resort in El Nido. What’s next? Planning how to get around the island! Here are El Nido travel tips for how to get around El Nido, particularly on the main island (because on water is obviously by boat!)

By Van & Driver

The most comfortable way to get around the main island is by hiring a van and driver. You can do that through your hotel, or if you are staying in Lio there are companies around the beach that offer that by-the-day service.

Roads are bumpy and there are plenty of scooters and tricycles driving at slower speeds, so vans save time, provide comfort, and have air-conditioning.

Many resorts offer airport transportation vans for arrivals and departures. Contact your resort to ensure that service so you do not have to worry about your luggage in a tricycle.

By Tricycle

If you want to save money or you want to simply experience it, the most common form of public transportation is by tricycle. From Lio Beach to/from El Nido Town, a tricycle ride takes about 15 minutes for 300 pesos.

Note that tricycle drivers can accept up to 3 persons if they can squeeze inside. There are no seatbelts and the ride is very bumpy. Tip: Bring a mask so you don’t breathe in the fumes and dust along the way.

Rental Car or Scooter

For the adventurous, you can opt to rent a scooter or for those traveling with more people you can rent a car or van and drive around the island at your leisure. There are official rental companies on Lio Beach and in El Nido Town.
