Guam is the perfect destination for those looking for a weekend getaway at a beachfront resort. The island has many options that range from budget to luxury. For a luxury resort experience, check in to the Dusit Thani Guam Resort.
The Dusit Thani Guam Resort opened in 2015 and is currently the island’s newest and most reputable 5-star luxury resort. The property commands the most gorgeous panoramic views along Tumon Bay where you can witness picturesque sunsets and the endless horizon of the Pacific Ocean.
Oceanfront Rooms are a step up from the base Mountain View Rooms. If you are going to spend on the Dusit, you might as well spend a little more on the Oceanfront views. Imagine waking up to these amazing horizon and seeing the sunset from your room each afternoon!
Oceanfront Rooms are 43 square meters large with ample space for a desk area, sitting area, and balcony which overlooks the ocean. Note: the rooms have blackout blinds so you can sleep peacefully.
The bathroom has two sinks, an enclosed toilet with built-in bidet, and an enclosed shower. This design allows more than one person to use the space at the same time because of the privacy of the toilet.
As it is a luxury hotel, the bathroom also has a bathtub to wind down each night. Amenities include Dusit-branded shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as the usual dental kit, nail kit, shower cap, shaving kit, and hairdryer.
One of the draws of booking at Dusit Guam is the free minibar. The drinks and snacks are all complimentary, but not refilled unless you want to pay extra for those particular items. As these are complimentary, the quality is not the best. Note: bottled water is complimentary and refilled each day.
Enjoy your room! Make the most of your nightly rate and enjoy the quiet, comfort of your room which has such incredible ocean views. You can drink and nibble on the free minibar snacks in your sitting area or out in your balcony while enjoying the hotel’s free WiFi.
The hotel offers guests a range of restaurants, 6 total, including Thai cuisine, a Grill restaurant, and an international buffet. Plus, there are ample facilities and activities for guests of all ages, including a Kids’ Club and Play Area and an exclusive Spa with signature massage and body treatments.
Aside from the pristine beachfront, the hotel offers guests a fun outdoor pool with multiple areas and cabanas to relax, unwind, and truly enjoy your vacation. The beach is one of the best spots to take in the sunset.
The hotel gym is located on the 22nd and 23rd floors. You will be required to use your room card to go up the elevator as well as to enter the gym. The 23rd floor has all the cardio equipment including treadmills, recumbent bicycles, and ellipticals.
The 22nd floor of the gym has all the free weights and weight machines as well as floor space for bodyweight exercises. The gym offers cold towels to cool down. Note that it is 24-hours so you can use the fitness center whenever you want.
While you can grab taxis to and from the airport, you can also book a hotel car for a higher price but with more convenience and comfort. For $80 each way, the hotel’s Range Rover offers guests meet and greet service for arrivals and airport drop-offs for departures.
As this is still the newest and most reputable resort on the island, luxury travelers will certainly be more inclined to stay at the Dusit. With its high nightly rate, you will have equally high expectations.
The lobby, restaurants variety, and facilities certainly meet those expectations. The rooms are spacious, but note some flaws including the feel of wear-and-tear in the room and bathroom as well as a narrow design for the enclosed toilet.
Until another new luxury resort opens on the island, Dusit Thani Guam is one of your best luxury beachfront resort options.
