Classic Christmas Roasts for Holiday Meals

It’s time to start thinking of your holiday meals, even if you are having smaller celebrations this year. Here are some ideas for Classic, Traditional Christmas Roasts:

Roast Turkey

While the U.S. celebrates Thanksgiving with turkey, British traditions typically enjoy it on Christmas as their special roast.

If you are planning a small meal, consider these turkey parts, like bone-in breast or bone-in thigh, from Whole Foods.

Whole Bone-In Ham

If you want a roast, and want to have lots of leftover sandwiches days later, consider a whole roast ham. You can choose from honey-glazed or even smoked. While these hams are pre-cooked, it’s always best to give it a reheating in the oven to bring out the juices from the meat.

Pork Shoulder

If you don’t want ham, but still want something with pork, roast pork shoulder is a festive cut that’s sure to make for a memorable meal. For convenience and choice of size, try out the pork cut from Whole Foods.

Roast Beef

Nothing says “roast” quite like a roast beef. Celebrate in style at home this season with some prime rib. For a little help in the kitchen, some companies even offer pre-seasoned aged roasts and cooking instructions.

Rack of Lamb

Rack of lamb is practically synonymous with the holidays and classic celebration meals. Be sure not to forget the Mint Sauce!

Duck Confit

While not a common Christmas meal, duck confit is nonetheless festive because of the effort it takes to sizzle up the leg. But, you get a big head start with these tins from France so you can really have the real deal.
