Best Travel Supplements for Your Next Trip

5 Best Travel Supplements to Stay Healthy

Traveling leaves you more likely to get sick. On a daily basis, you are out more and exposed more people and more germs. In general, you may sleep fewer hours because you are not in your own bed or you are adjusting to the timezone. Plus, you can use the excuse that you are on vacation so there’s no need to workout or eat healthy. All these factors weaken your immune system and make you more vulnerable to getting sick. Here are 5 of the best travel supplements to stay healthy on your next trip:

1. Probiotics

If you choose to take only one supplement, probiotics should be your number one choice. While you can naturally consume it through foods, like yogurt or kimchi, it is easiest and most effective through capsules. Probiotics will help maintain your digestive health (to prevent and to ease bad stomachs) as well as strengthen your immune system.

2. Vitamin C

To really prevent yourself from getting sick and to strengthen your immune system, increase your dose of Vitamin C while traveling. If you normally take 500mg per day, increase it to 1000mg per day. This is most essential when you start to feel yourself on the verge of getting sick. Vitamin C and a full night’s rest will leave you feeling much better the next morning.

3. Multivitamins

For whole body health, consider taking a multivitamin will all the essential supplements in one capsule, including Vitamin B, D, and E which fortifies your energy level, strengthens your immune system, and boosts your metabolism.

4. Laxatives

Travel constipation is real. It can make you feel uneasy during the day and even sour your mood because of being so backed up. Laxatives taken at night after dinner and with water can really help cleanse your system. Read more Tips for Travel Constipation.

5. Ibuprofen

Traveling is an excuse to go a bit overboard. And that may result in heartburn or a hangover. Pack some ibuprofen just in case. There are some countries that may not have your preferred brand of pain relievers, so it is best to pack your own. Also, bring ibuprofen on the airplane in the slight chance you start to feel a mild fever – take it with water and a little snack and your temperature will reduce by the time you land.

With all these necessary supplements, consider buying a vitamin container organizer, too!
