Family Travel Fun in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is one of the few destinations in Asia perfect for family travel with all the kid-friendly attractions and activities. Here are recommendations based on my family travel experience with my nephews:

Theme Parks in Hong Kong

Hong Kong Disneyland

If you have children, the obvious destination is Hong Kong Disneyland. The theme park is more crowded on weekends and holidays, but the wait times are not as excruciating as in Japan. Each year, the park expands such as with this year’s new Iron Man Experience. The fun way to get to the park is via the Sunny Bay MTR station on the Mickey Mouse train. Photo credit Jeremy Thompson

Ocean Park Hong Kong

Hong Kong’s very own theme park with animal exhibits like the aquarium and panda village, roller coaster rides, and shows. This is a great park for all ages. You can get there via public transportation, such as a taxi or at the new MTR Ocean Park Station, and then take this enclosed cable car to arrive at the park’s entrance. Photo credit ystsoi

Family-Friendly Dining

When in Hong Kong, dim sum is a must. Why not make it extra fun at the same time? Social Place delights guests with playful dim sum creations and modern twists. This looks like a pear, but it is actually a crunchy, savory bite!
The bun looks like a massive mushroom, and at first bite, you discover it is an umami-full bite of mushroom and truffle in the fluffy bun painted to look like a mushroom. Absolute fun and flavor in every bite
